About the FIRST Community Project
Former Sachem North students Yash Jani, Sofia Karayoff, and Stefanie Karayoff have initiated a donation program consisting of 70 Long Island teams helping over 50 teams in the 5-Boroughs with material donations.
At the NYC 2022 Regional competition, we noticed that many of the teams' robots were made of wood or unfinished. When we asked around, we found out that many of the NYC teams have very little funding and lacked vital parts. Because of the great difference in support, we decided to get a group together to see if we could help. We want to give students in lesser funded teams a more enriching experience in FRC, so for the past few months, we have been working on a way to help teams that don't have the supplies they require by donating them.

Celebrate One year With Us!
It's our birthday! On March 24, 2023, we announced our project to all the teams at the 2023 Long Island Regional.
Since then, we have made more progress with this initiative than we could have ever imagined.
We have collected many parts from teams, donated many parts to teams, been recognized by FIRST NYC and FIRST LI, met and spoken about the project with Dean Kamen, been featured in Newsday, and many other things.
We want to give all of those who have donated, received, helped, or supported this project a huge thank you. We can't do any of this without your support and guidance.
Love,
The FIRST Community Project members
